[...] I picked oranges with them in July and ever since then I have been halfway obsessed with unpicked fruit trees of any kind. I walk around my neighborhood in a twist over orange and lemon trees which are practically suffocating under the weight of fruit which could make gallons upon gallons of juice, jellies, or pies (pies are clearly the best choice).
All great points for the legalization of Marijuana. I think the stigma against marijuana will change with the upcoming generations. Marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol or cigarettes. The environmental impact just adds more reasons for legalization. Legalization, like you said, would mean the production of a more organic and safe product, as well as putting a stop to the growing inside our National Forests, which cause so much damage. I applaud you for speaking out on a subject that so many people are afraid to talk about. If politicians had your bravery, we might already have legalization.

Hey Raegan,

Great job getting involved! And I love the pic with your Pa. :) Your vignette about the Vietnam memorial makes me think of The Long Grey Line which I read last year. It is an excellent look into the lives of the soldiers that fought in the Vietnam War before, during, and after from the perspective of some graduates of West Point. fwiw.
Take care!

After donating blood through all of my adult life, i've overcome the anxiety quite some time ago. But a few weeks back, i went, yet again to donate. From the time the needle was inserted, i felt an odd sensation, but chalked it up to maybe not eating enough earlier before my appointment. Towards the end of the donation, i became very faint. I alerted the one who inserted the needle, and they leaned me back in the chair and applied cold compresses on my forehead and neck. After a minute or two i was feeling better. I ate my cookies, drank some juice, and off i went, without another thought. About a week later, i awoke and my left pinky finger was numb, and very stiff. Initially i thought that i had slept on it wrong, so i pushed it out of my head. But it has continued to get worse. Moral of the story, while it is a very selfless act to donate, be very cautious that the technicial isn't rushed as mine was. I now have nerve damage. Whether or not it permanent or temporary, only time will tell.
